Grammy-nominated soul singer-songwriter-emcee Maimouna Youssef aka “Mumu Fresh” is coming back to New York City. In recognition of the release of her latest project, The Reintroduction of Mumu Fresh mixtape, the star is taking the stage at DROM in NYC, Sunday, June 29.
Since bursting onto the scene in 2006 and becoming one of the most buzzed-about artists in her hometown of Baltimore, Fresh has collaborated with some of the most acclaimed artists of the last 25 years, including Mos Def, Dead Prez, Big Daddy Kane, Nas and the Roots. Her first projects, 2011’s Black Magic Woman EP and her debut album The Blooming set her on the path to stardom.
With her charisma and stage presence on full display, Fresh is one of the most engaging performers in music. And she has a wealth of new material from The Reintroduction… that will no doubt make for a memorable show. Let’s welcome her back with open arms.
