According to USA Today, in a new Quinnipiac poll, 33 percent of respondents named Obama the worst president since World War II while another 28 percent put Bush at the bottom of post-war presidents. You would think the first president to provide universal health care would be in better popularity.

Obama received only 8 percent in the presidents poll. Ronald Reagan topped the poll as the best president since World War II, with 35 percent. He is followed by Presidents Bill Clinton (18 percent) and John F. Kennedy (15 percent). “Over the span of 69 years of American history and 12 presidencies, President Barack Obama finds himself with President George W. Bush at the bottom of the popularity barrel,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

Ironically, the Quinnipiac poll also reports that 45 percent of respondents believe the nation would be better off had Mitt Romney defeated Obama in the 2012 presidential election; another 38 percent said the country would be worse off with Romney as president.

Several black people think Obama has failed to do enough for black communities in this country. I thought the role of the president was to establish policies that help everyone? Just this week, we celebrated 50 years since the Civil Rights Act was signed. Last month, we celebrated Juneteenth. Isn’t it a brag-worthy milestone to have a black president for not one term, but two?

Do you think Barack Obama should be considered the ‘worst president?’
