Tracy Morgan files lawsuit against Walmart over deadly crash

Former “30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan puts Walmart on notice! Morgan, 45, has filed suit against Walmart over the car accident that seriously injured him and killed his friend in the early morning hours on the New Jersey Turnpike in early June.

In the lawsuit filed on Thursday, July 10, in the U.S. District Court in New Jersey, Morgan claims that Walmart was negligent when a driver of one of their tractor-trailers rear-ended Morgan’s limousine van while traveling 20 mph over the speed limit.

The suit went on the allege that the driver fell asleep at the wheel, due to the “unreasonable” 700 mile trek he was assigned by the mega-retailer.

“As a result of Walmart’s gross, reckless, willful, wanton, and intentional conduct, it should be appropriately punished with the imposition of punitive damages,” read the complaint.

On June 7, Morgan suffered broken ribs, a broken leg and a broken nose in the fatal incident, while his close friend James McNair, 62, was killed.

Other plaintiffs named in the complaint include fellow comedians Ardley Fuqua and Jeffrey and Krista Millea, who were also injured passengers in the limo van. – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
