Chicago continues to struggle with gun violence. During another violent weekend, 22 people were shot and a 13-year-old boy was killed.
According to NBC Chicago, the 13-year-old boy was shot during a drive-by that occurred in East Garfield Park. Three 14-year-olds and a 15-year-old was also shot during the shooting.
On Friday night, a 3-year-old boy was shot in the abdomen after he was hit by a bullet that was meant for his mother’s boyfriend. A man was shot on Wolcott after two people began arguing and gun shots occurred. The man was struck while sitting in the back of a car. Another man was shot in the ankle after two men approached him on South Emerald and asked if he was from the neighborhood.
Last weekend, 40 people were shot in the city and 82 were wounded on July 4th weekend.
