In a recent interview with Billboard, T.I. was asked about the long standing beef between Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj and Minaj’s purported beef with his artist Iggy Azalea.
Tip says he thinks ego plays a big part in the mess and all the chatter about Nicki being the new “Queen of Rap” only adds to the mess.
“Just because you heard another person say that (‘Queen of Rap’) you gonna be on edge,” T.I. said “I feel like that’s more of the case with Kim and Nicki, even though I don’t know what started any of this, it’s a little more complicated to put to bed because of that fact.”
Tip thinks the constant comparisons between Kim and Nicki would “put a chip on your shoulder in a different way too.” When asked about the much rumored beef between Minaj and his artist Azalea, Tip says the notion is ridiculous.
“That’s a little more preposterous,” he insisted. “Like ‘what the f—’ because they’re not even in each other’s lane.”
Of course it was Nicki’s declaration of “When you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it” at this year’s BET Awards that began the rumors of her sending subliminal shots at Iggy.
If Kim and Iggy, who have publicly been in support of each other in the past, get under Minaj’s skin now, she may really have a problem with the pair if a possible collaboration between the two happens, as Tip hinted to Billboard.
