It looks like Jeezy was arrested for being a rapper on the same tour bus as a rifle.
After he and five entourage members were arrested and charged with illegal possession of an assault weapon, Atlanta rapper Jeezy is finally vindicated as it has been revealed that the rifle in question is legally registered to the head of Jeezy’s tour security.
According to TMZ, the owner of the gun was not present at the time of the arrest because he was in the hospital recovering from a gunshot wound to the arm suffered the night before police searched the bus during its tour stop in Irvine, California.
Police conduct is now being called into question as witnesses on the scene say Jeezy was not in the same area of the bus where the gun was located. Furthermore, arresting officers were repeatedly told that the gun was legally registered to someone currently in the hospital but that information apparently fell on deaf ears.
Jeezy later posted a $1 million bail for himself and his five tour members.
His fifth album, Seen It All: The Autobiography, was released Tuesday (Sept. 2).
