On Saturday, September 13, Floyd “Money” Mayweather will face Marcos Maidana in a re-match held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas. The two fighters came head to head in May 2014 for a championship super fight that promised to be the toughest fight of Mayweather’s career. Ultimately, “Money” Mayweather took home the title in the 12 round majority decision victory.
At 46-0, 26KO’s, Mayweather is set to pocket a guaranteed minimum of $32 million for Saturday’s fight. Maidana on the other hand is set to take home a minimum guaranteed amount of $3 million. This actually doubled his earnings made in their epic battle that took place in May.
With all of the pressure and prepping for the Pay-Per-View event, Mayweather was stung with a recent lawsuit from ex-fiancée Shantel Jackson. In the lawsuit, Jackson is alleging domestic abuse and defamation. She has enlisted attorney Gloria Allred for representation. Domestic violence is a very serious issue and should never be ignored or taken lightly. However, some may say the suit materialized at a curious time.
Needless to say, this will be a fight you definitely don’t want to miss! –Lili
