It’s no secret that Kanye West thinks highly of himself.
This latest news concerning his new album, though, may even be a bit much for Kanye’s ego. Or maybe not.
In a recent interview with Complex magazine, musician Tony Williams, who frequently works with ‘Ye, says the goal is to put West’s next studio album in competition with Thriller as one of the greatest albums ever.
“We’re just focusing on making great records, and when I say great records, I mean not records that are pigeonholed into a certain genre, a certain style,” Williams says. “We’re out to make a new Thriller — on that magnitude. Actually like the greatest album of all times.”
Needless to say, those are some pretty lofty expectations. As is common knowledge, Thriller is the best-selling album in the history of recorded music having sold upward of 100 million albums worldwide.
