Describe your role as a stylist.
It is my calling to bring out an individual’s best sartorial style. I work with clients as well as publications to execute a vision that we may have. I make people look beautiful or handsome on the outside as they are on the inside.

How did you get into this field?
I got into this field by accident. I have always loved fashion and style but my heart, was really helping people. I desired to bridge these two and I came up with Edifystyle.

Who are some of your most popular clients?
I mostly work with up-and-coming artists and everyday people. But I have styled radio personality Lady Jade, Dallas Cowboy Jakar Hamilton, as well as gospel artist J. Paul.

Who really needs a stylist?
Everyone! Honestly, it would be nice if everyone had a person in their back pocket to call up and make sure that they look amazing every time they stepped out of the door. Alot of people think that only celebrities need a stylist, but the truth of the matter is,everyone could use them; even if it is just to get them out of their stylish bubble or try a trend in a new way. As a stylist I don’t sell clothes or outfits I create living art.

What has been your biggest success to date?
My biggest success to date being able to style the Big 10 issue cover of Krave magazine I was truly humbled when they asked me.

What has been your biggest success to date?
My biggest challenge is execution. A lot of times clients and publications want so many things and they look to you to fulfill them in the budget they have specified. Most of they times I just have to pray, use my resources, and usually everyone is happy.

What sets you apart in this industry?
What makes me unique is my heart and knowing where I am going. I have a true desire to help bring out the best in all of my clients. More importantly, I can see a vision of how my clients can be and map out a path to get there. I’ve been given the gift to manage the hearts as well as the attire of my clients.

What is next for you professionally?
Honestly, I would love to be able to get more clients. My ultimate goal is to style for GQ.

What advise would you give someone interested in being in this profession?
My advice for anyone who wants to be a stylist is to make a plan and a goals list, understand that the first few years of your journey will be pro bono. Work hard, study your craft, never forget to say thank you. It goes a long way. Remain humble. Have faith in the talent you have been given and believe that God will see you through.
