In “How to Get Away With Murder” Viola Davis plays a college law professor who also happens to run a law firm, but despite this fact, People‘s tweeter can only relate to her as Abilene from The Help and “waits” for her to fall back into her servant character from the blockbuster film because apparently that’s more comfortable for them.
Of course #BlackTwitter got back on the case and left People‘s comments in shambles to the point that someone got smart, went back and deleted the above tweets and issued the following apology:
Their apology could be accepted and this whole issue could be put behind us if we didn’t know that People is currently being sued for firing the one and only black editor that had ever been hired in 40 years.
It appears as though People doesn’t like black people.
