“Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star K. Michelle is no stranger to keeping it “real.” The outspoken reality star best known for her powerhouse vocals and booming backside, has come forward to set the record straight on her infamous curves. During an interview with HuffPost Live Michelle was questioned about claims she had butt implants and whether or not she feels pressured by Hollywood to maintain her hour glass figure. She said…
“My body is a hot topic every single day. Everywhere I go people walk up to me and ask me about my body. I don’t want little girls to think that I did really wake up like this, okay! I’m not like that. I’m not going to be like ‘I’ve done nothing.’ You know, I got my boobs done. I’ve had fat transferred to my butt. I’ve sucked out a stomach. You know, normal women things.”
When it comes to undergoing the knife on TV for her new show, “K. Michelle: My Life,” the 30-year-old singer and songwriter responded saying, “That’s my life. I’m not ashamed of wanting to suck my rolls out of my stomach — Women need to know that I didn’t just wake up like that.”
As to whether Michelle feels like young girls would see her undergoing a cosmetic procedure on TV and feel pressured to do the same to achieve her voluptuous look, the reality star says…
“Let me tell you this. You don’t have to do anything [surgically] to be popular. You need to do what makes you happy. Don’t look at me as the poster child for ‘I need to change my appearance.’ — What I do want little girls to know is that I remember being a little girl and looking up at all those stars, thinking that they were really that perfect and I’d be like ‘Wait … What? Well, mine don’t look like that.’ So it’s important for me to let them know that I had some alterations and adjustments going on and it’s okay.”
While Michelle does have a great point … “You don’t have to do anything to be popular. You need to do what makes you happy,” are we setting our young girls up by showcasing that surgery is the only route to happiness if one is unhappy with their figure?
