Andy Cohen explains why Porsha Williams was demoted

It’s been weeks since news broke that Porsha Williams was asked to give up her peach on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” and fans felt a bit of her absence on Sunday’s season premiere when she appeared in just one scene of the episode. And although Williams and Bravo have previously only revealed a little about Williams’ demotion, “RHOA” executive producer Andy Cohen recently opened up about why he demoted the former “RHOA” star.

Cohen addressed the matter during a recent segment of Ask Andy on “Watch What Happens Live” and he explained that Williams’ demotion had nothing to do with her fight with Kenya Moore during the “RHOA” reunion.

“I will say two things about it. It had nothing to do with anything that happened at the reunion last season, I just want to make that clear. Really it was more about the amount of story that we got from Porsha this season, as we were shooting. We went into it assuming that she was going to be a full housewife, holding a peach. We just haven’t gotten enough to merit that, so she’s going to be in the show a lot. We love her. I hope she’s on Bravo, you know, endlessly. #TeamPorsha will still be happy to see Porsha,” Cohen explained.

Well, Williams can’t be too hurt about the demotion because, besides her regular gig at “Dish Nation,” she also recently revealed that she’s going to be part of an “RHOA” spin-off series. Plus, it was recently revealed that Williams has another new job as well. Find out what her new gig is after the cut. –nicholas robinson
