Reality star Diem Brown has died after a long battle with cancer.
In 2006, the “Real World/Road Rules Challenge” star revealed that she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer just weeks prior to her first appearance on MTV’s “The Real World.” TMZ reports that earlier this week, Diem was surrounded by family in a New York hospital as her condition took a turn for the worse.
In August, Brown announced that she had been diagnosed with stomach and colon cancer after she collapsed on set while filming “The Challenge.” It eventually spread to her liver and lymph nodes as well.
Along the way, Brown became an advocate for others facing similar trials, founding MedGift, a support registry for people battling illness.
“I want people to know that the fight is worth it,” she told People late last month. “And that’s something that’s so important for me.”
