Twitter reacts to ‘Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B’

Last night, the highly anticipated Aaliyah biopic, “Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B” starring Alexandra Shipp [formerly a spot held by Zendaya Coleman] aired on Lifetime TV. It wasn’t long into the made-for-TV flick however, that fans realized it was probably the worst movie ever made!

Poor casting, mediocre acting and a what the heck ending pretty much tarnished our perfectly imperfect memory of the lovable tomboy who sang her way into our hearts. Once you read Twitter’s reaction to Lifetime’s version of Aaliyah’s story, it’s safe to say, that the movie should have never been made.

Unfortunately, the network has their hands on the Whitney Houston story as well. Here’s to hoping Angela Bassett out produces Wendy Williams … by miles.

Well, I for one am glad I did not see the make believe movie. I expected Wendy Williams to give her little nasty slant on Aaliyah’s story. Wendy made sure she injected her point of view, which is just trashy…..and it looks as if the proof is in the pudding…the debut of Wendy’s first bio production.

I really enjoyed lifetimes TLC biopic, but this one was just off! Besides the lead character actually looking like Aaliyah, the casting was just totally off the mark. The actors chosen to play Missy and timberland were like 50 to 100 pounds too light for the role. And were there no medium skin black brothers auditioning to play Damon Dash, I mean really?! And don’t even get me started on what they picked up to play R. Kelly. Just wrong all the way around. Too bad Wendy Williams has her name written all over this thing because it was pretty much a failure. Producing isn’t for everyone. I hope the Whitney Houston one turns out good.

Wendy you’re my girl and all . first you didn’t succeed ,you should have brush your shoulders off and don’t try it again ever . cuz that movie was wack the little skit that they did on Channel five law & order SVU with Rihanna and Chris Brown in 2012 was better than that, I’m going to compare this reality show , ok flex & Shanice reality show. to that SADDD Aaliyah’s biopic there reality show was more entertaining than that biopic , I was embarrassed for Aaliyah myself and her family if was a shame. what they did to baby girl the princess of R&B that is a shame may Aaliyah rest in peace ,( RIP BABY GIRL,)
