Cosby goes to war against rape accusers with new strategy

Bill Cosby, Camille Cosby

Bill Cosby is getting ready to do battle with the dozens of women who have accused him of sexual assault. According to multiple sources, Cosby and his legal team have spent six figures on hiring the best team of private investigators money can buy. Their sole purpose is to dig into the background of each Cosby accuser and weaken their credibility or brand the women liars.

Sources who attended the meeting spoke anonymously and painted a picture of the beloved comedian as a man ready to fight. According to the sources Cosby stated, “If you’re going to say to the world that I did this to you, then the world needs to know, ‘What kind of person are you? Who is this person that’s saying it?” This damage control strategy of smearing the reputation of his accusers, if true, has a significant potential to backfire on Cosby. He risks the revictimization and shaming of a rape victim by addressing issues of character rather than the specific event that he is being accused of.

Cosby’s lawyer, Martin Singer, has not commented on whether Cosby has hired private investigators. However, he did state to the media, “You don’t need private investigators to find out information about the accusers. A simple Google search will obtain the information.” Only time well tell if Cosby’s muckraking investigations will produce any result against his accusers. .

So far, 21 women have publicly accused Cosby of sexual assault and in many incidents, drugging his victims first.
