Monday, March 2, 2015 marks Read Across America Day, which is an annual event that coincides with Dr. Seuss’ birthday and is celebrated nationally. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens, and books.
This year, rolling out’s Seeding Minds program was honored singer, actress and reality TV star LaTavia Roberson volunteered to read to a select group of students at Thomasville Heights Elementary School in Atlanta which is led by Dr. Cynthia Jewell, their principal for the past few years.
The two-time Grammy Award-winning artist and mother of a toddler daughter read Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham to 40 pre-selected students from Kindergarten to the fourth grade who’ve had perfect attendance to date this school year. Quite a few of the students were fortunate enough to be able to skip wearing school uniforms and show up in their favorite charactered pajamas.
