Reality stars and real-life couple Ice-T and Coco are slated to host their very own daytime talk show. On Monday, April 13, Frank Cicha, senior VP of programming, Fox Television Stations; Ken Werner, president of Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution; and Mike Darnell, president of Warner Bros. unscripted and alternative television, announced the big news in a statement.
“We see this as another attempt to do something different — big personalities, new to the daypart,” Cicha said in a statement. “Ice-T helped change popular culture. We’re trying to do the same thing for daytime.” Werner added, “We are thrilled to continue our ongoing relationship with Fox attempting to develop the next generation of successful talk shows. ‘Ice & Coco’ has all the earmarks of a success.”
During the show, which will air across FOX stations, as a three-week daily test this summer, “Ice & Coco” will cover topics like Hollywood news and feature celebrity guests, fun segments, games and open interviews, presented in a “fun, authentic vibe” with hopes that the husband-and-wife duo will bring a “fresh perspective to the daily talk-show format.”
In the meantime, you can catch Ice-T currently starring on “Law & Order: SVU.” The couple helmed their own E! reality show, “Ice Loves Coco,” in June 2011, which ran for three seasons. Of their new talk show, Ice-T and Coco say, “It’s a fun show with our own style of hip, married humor and honesty.”
“Ice & Coco” is set to premiere on Aug. 3 on select Fox-owned stations in several markets, including New York and Los Angeles.
