Nick Cannon recently revealed that he still has a whole lot of love for Mariah Carey.

Just a few days after squashing rumors that he’ll be penning a tell-all book detailing his very public breakup with the mother of his children, the “America’s Got Talent” star slammed rumors that there’s still trouble in paradise. In fact, on Monday’s all-new “Meredith Vieira Show,” the 34-year-old sparked rumors of a possible reconciliation with Carey.

“It’s one of those things, I’m a hopeless romantic too,” Cannon told Meredith Vieira. “Through this learning process, you never say never. To me, one thing I know [is] that will always be the love of my life, always be my family and that’s never going to change.”

But before everyone gets too ahead of themselves, the “Wild ‘N Out” host wants fans to know that the media coverage surrounding his divorce hasn’t always been forthcoming or accurate.

“It’s extremely disappointing when you see that people just want to perpetuate negativity when there is no negativity even involved,” he explained. “They want to make up stuff and create things. You kind of get to that place where, I’ve always been the most open and honest person but I understand kind of playing it close to the vest because when you start to feed into it and there are so many false items and people just want to speculate, then you don’t want to say anything at all,” he told Vieira.

All the rumors and speculation have actually given Cannon a new appreciation for Carey’s ability to keep family things on the hush-hush. “That’s one thing I actually admire [about] Mariah because she is professional,” he added. “You ain’t going to get nothing out of her. I was like you know what, I’m learning. I’m learning,” Cannon continued.

Nevertheless, it’s nice to see these two co-parent in what seems to be a healthy way. Cannon put it best, when he said “dem babies” come first.
