Olvera Street in Los Angeles is the site of El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument (the birthplace of LA) and is also a thriving center of Mexican-American culture. It’s also where the annual Cinco de Mayo festival goes down, featuring popular and traditional music, exhibitor booths and plenty of food. For an alternative way to celebrate, check out Psychedelic Cinco at L.A.’s Mayan Theater, complete with masked wrestlers, a burlesque show and piñatas.
