The drama continues for Warren Sapp.
As previously reported, the Pro Football Hall of Famer was arrested in Phoenix, Ariz. for soliciting a prostitute and assault earlier this year, while covering the Super Bowl for the NFL Network.
According to law enforcement, police officers were contacted by a female at a Phoenix hotel who claimed she had been assaulted by Sapp when an argument about money turned physical. Sapp was detained and questioned at which point he admitted his involvement in the act of prostitution; however, he denied any allegations that he assaulted anyone at the scene.
He was later transported to the Maricopa County jail and booked on charges of soliciting prositution and two counts of assault. Soon after, the NFL Network suspended the former Big East Defensive Player of the Year indefinitely, without pay, “pending the outcome of the ongoing police investigation.”
Now, Sapp is reportedly facing up to 18 months in prison after being charged with three counts of domestic battery after allegedly biting his longtime girlfriend, Chalyce Moore, and then throwing her to the ground prior to stepping on her head on April 28 at the M Resort in Las Vegas.
Authorities have since obtained video that backs Moore’s story.
This isn’t the first time Sapp has been arrested for battery. In 2010, the 42-year-old “Dancing With the Stars” alum was arrested for domestic battery, but the charges were eventually dropped. In 2014, he was arrested again for alleged domestic battery in Miami.
Clearly, this man has unresolved anger issues and while it appears he was able escape punishment for his actions in the past, he may just have to face the music this go around. Maybe his lack of income has something to do with that… just saying…
Shame on you, Sapp!
