Lil Wayne’s exclusive stream of his Free Weezy album on Tidal must have gone really well because he’s giving the upstart streaming platform yet another exclusive soon.
The Young Money general plans to stream his upcoming “Lil Weezyana Fest” only on Tidal next month.
“I’ve connected with my fans in such a cool way with the help of Tidal, and with this Tidal X I can’t wait to bring them another experience,” Weezy says. “Lil Weezyana Fest is so special to me and I’m excited to share it with fans in New Orleans and online.”
Fans of the old Cash Money sound and of the Hot Boys will be pleased to know that original group members, Juvenile and Turk, plan to reunite with Weezy on stage at the event. Unfortunately, fourth group member B.G. is currently incarcerated, so it won’t be a complete reunion but former Cash Money in-house producer Mannie Fresh will join the party as well.
It appears as though Jay Z’s vision for the Tidal app is slowly but surely beginning to take place. Since it’s relaunch earlier this year, it has exclusively streamed concerts by artist just as Jay Z, Prince, Mary J. Blige, and J. Cole. Currently available in almost 50 countries, the subscription numbers for the service continue to climb.
Morris Bart Presents Lil WeezyAna Fest: Lil Wayne and Friends is scheduled to take place at Bold Sphere Music at Champions Square in New Orleans on Aug. 28.
