Patterson, New Jersey, rapper Fetty Wap can now boast that he’s accomplished something no rapper has in almost half a decade.
With his latest single, “My Way” making its way into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, the rapper born Willie Maxwell is now the first male rapper to have two singles in the top 10 since Lil Wayne pulled off the feat in 2011 with “How To Love” and “She Will.”
After sales of “My Way” impacted the chart for the first time this week, the single shot up from No. 87 to No. 7. Fetty’s other single, “Trap Queen” continues its long run in the top 10 still resting comfortably at No. 6 this week.
“My Way’s” leap is the biggest the Billboard 100 has seen in almost two years when Katy Perry’s “Roar” jumped from No. 85 to No. 2 in August 2013.
