Mike Scott of the Atlanta Hawks could face jail time after being arrested on drug charges. According to reports by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the sharp-shooting power forward was in Banks County, Georgia, when the arrest occurred.
Banks County sheriffs attempted to stop the vehicle Scott was riding in on the morning of July 30 when they noticed it was driving too close to other vehicles. Scott’s brother, Antonn Scott, 20, reportedly sped up as his vehicle topped speeds of 98 mph. He eventually stopped two miles after the officers’ initial attempt.
Scott and his brother told officers that they had marijuana inside the car. They allowed the officers to search the car and they found an ounce of marijuana and a little over 10 grams of MDMA, which is also known as Molly.
Scott and his brother were charged with felony possession of marijuna and possession of MDMA. The possession of a schedule 1 drug in Georgia can lead to a possible sentence of 2-15 years in prison.
Scott served as an intricate part of the Hawks success in 2014-15 as a backup power forward.
