Drake may have made easy work of Meek Mill but some are speculating that he may now have a more formidable opponent coming his way.
Now that everyone has given Dr. Dre’s new album, Compton: A Soundtrack, a few listens, the consensus is that Kendrick Lamar could be sending shots at the OVO leader in a couple songs on the album..
On his hit song “Energy” Drizzy raps, “I got enemies, got a lot of enemies. Got a lot of people trying to drain me of my energy.”
Lamar seems to reply on the song “Darkside/Gone” when he spits:
I got enemies giving me energy
I wanna fight now
Subliminals sending me all of this hate
I thought I was holding the mic down
Then there’s the song “Deep Water,”mwhere Lamar seems to take another shot at the self proclaimed “6 God” with the following lyrics:
Once upon a time I shot a n—a on accident
I tried to kill him, but I guess I needed more practice then
That’s when I realized banging wasn’t for everybody
Switch it up before my enemy or the sheriff got me.
They liable to bury him
They nominated six to carry him
They worry him to death but he no vegetarian
The beef is on his breath inheriting the drama better than a Great White. N—a, this is life in my aquarium.
Both Drizzy and K. Dot have sent subliminal shots back and forth since Lamar mentioned him on his classic verse on Big Sean’s “Control.” Drake fired back in “The Language” and Lamar sent a few bars back during the TDE cypher at the 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards before things seemed to have fizzled out.
Could Drake be picking and choosing his battles or is he simply just waiting to hear Lamar say his name?
