Just in case “How to Get Away With Murder’s” upcoming season two premiere doesn’t already have you on the edge of your seat in anticipation, the rumor mill has it that Shonda Rhimes is developing a new show surrounding a group of nuns… from the Bronx.
Hailing from writer Alison Schapker (best known for her work on “Fringe”, “Brothers and Sisters”, “Alias”), the pilot centers around a group of Catholic nuns fighting the closure of their Bronx-based convent. As everything begins to unravel, they are burdened with the responsibility of three young, new novices whose arrival unearths long-buried secrets. The ensemble drama will throw into question everything you think you know about the “Brides of Christ.”
Because it wouldn’t be a Shondaland show without buried secrets, of course most of the show’s development is being kept under wraps. What we do know is that Schapker will write the pilot and executive-produce alongside Rhimes and Betsy Beers.
This is the second project Rhimes is developing for ABC this season. The company behind “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Scandal,” and mid-season drama “The Catch” is also working with “Trophy Wife” creators Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins on a half-hour divorce comedy, “Splitsville.”
