Lifetime is set to film an original movie, Un-Break My Heart, based on the popular memoir of the same name, surrounding the life of Toni Braxton. The Grammy-winning singer is even poised to play herself in the film, reports Deadline, with Vondie Curtis Hall (Abducted: The Carlina White Story) set to direct.

According to reports, the “authorized life story” will unspool the tale of the 47-year-old who has battled lupus, faced financial woes and divorce while raising a son with autism. The network bills the made-for-tv movie as “the never-before-told story of the measures Braxton took to make herself and her family whole again, serving as an inspiration to people around the world.”

Braxton, who stars in WE tv’s reality series “Braxton Family Values,” is also among the executive producers of the film, alongside Craig Baumgarten, executive producer of Lifetime’s Twist of Faith, an interfaith love story that she also starred in. Production is slated to begin later this year, with Susan McMartin (“Two and a Half Men”) penning the script.

While we’d have to admit the thought of a Braxton biopic has never really crossed our mind, her story could transition very well to the small screen. It is one of trial, triumph and a resurrection of sorts. Will you be watching? Let us know your thoughts on Braxton’s upcoming small screen flick in the comment section below.
