In January, TLC launched a Kickstarter campaign that brought in over $430K to be used towards their upcoming album. This week, T-Boz has come under fire from disgruntled fans over the delay of said album. One fan even asked for a refund, to which T-Boz replied, “Call Kickstarter and tell em yo give it bk.” Before we knew it, Twitter had conjured up the #TLCisGoingToJailParty, alleging that TLC had stolen the funds.

Now, the second half of TLC has come forward to clear up the misunderstanding. “This is the thing if people would do their research because everybody who donated, we’ve sent emails weekly. And on top of that, we did a press release. The problem with people…I refuse to address ignorance because there’s a lot of followers out there. They see one comment and they just jump on the bandwagon and don’t do their research,” the 45-year-old said during a recent interview on the “Rickey Smiley Morning Show.”

She added, “And at the end of the day that’s what I find really disappointing. Especially with our people. It’s mostly our people doing it and you don’t ever see other races on the internet dogging other people out the way black people do each other. It’s embarrassing and it’s unfortunate to me. I did the press release. What y’all should be worried about is your lack of knowledge and your ignorance. The information has been there.”

Unfortunately for fans, the singer still didn’t disclose an album release date, which tells us this social media firestorm has just begun. How do you think Miss T-Boz handled her critics? Does something here seem fishy? Sound off in the comment section below.
