Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump continues to flame the fire of racism and intolerance with his latest Twitter post. Trump tweeted the following:
These statistics have been widely panned as inaccurate and false. The tweet posted by Trump states that 81 percent of Whites are murdered by Blacks. This is blatantly false as the actual rate shows that 14 percent of White murder victims were killed by a Black person. In addition, the Black on Black murder rate is 89.9 percent, near the same rate as White on White murder, which is 82.3 percent. In Trump’s graphic, it states that Black on Black murder is 97 percent.
This racist tweet comes during the same week a Black Lives Matter protestor was violently beaten by Trump supporters at one of his campaign events. Trump stated that the man “Probably deserved it” and also stated that the Black Lives Matter movement was “looking for trouble.” He also felt that the dialogue between Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders with members of the movement were “disgraceful.” Trump currently leads all Republican candidates by 10 points.
