It’s official! A New Jersey Grand Jury has indicted the truck driver responsible for severely injuring Tracy Morgan and killing his friend James McNair during a limo crash in June 2014.

According to E! News, Kevin Roper is facing eight counts of third-degree aggravated assault in addition to one count of first-degree aggravated manslaughter and one count of second-degree vehicular homicide for causing bodily injury to Morgan and three others as well as causing the death of McNair, 62.

As you may recall, Morgan was placed in critical condition on June 7 after his limo bus was hit on the New Jersey Turnpike by Roper, who was driving a Walmart truck. Roper’s lawyer initially argued that the “30 Rock” actors highly-publicized suit against the major retailer would not result in a fair trial for his client, so they brought it directly to a Grand Jury, an action that has proven to be detrimental all the way around for the truck driver.

Meanwhile, Morgan has made major strides in his road to recovery. In September, he made his first public appearance while being honored at the Emmy Awards. Since then, he has returned to “Saturday Night Live” and even announced a nationwide stand-up tour. “I love comedy. I love comedy. I will never stop loving her. I’ll get back to making you laugh. I promise you,” he told the “Today Show” this summer.
