Drake in awe of Denzel Washington, shares story of past encounter with star

On Wednesday, Dec. 23, Drake and Cedric the Entertainer were all smiles, as they were joined court side by Tyrese and big screen veteran Denzel Washington in Los Angeles as the Lakers went head-to-head against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Later on, the Young Money rapper recalled an instance where he had the opportunity to meet Washington, but got cold feet and walked away. Here’s what he said via Instagram:

“I went to see Denzel Washington in Julius Caesar years ago in NYC with my best friend Mazin. After the play was done Denzel was standing outside and my boy asked him for a pic and of course he said yes. I was too nervous to ask him for another one so I walked away. I regretted that decision for years. I used to have to look at my boys epic pic and I was convinced I missed the chance to freeze a moment with one of the biggest inspirations in my life. Now its the end of 2015 and here is a picture of me and Tyrese trying to help Denzel work his phone. Life is a wonderful thing when you are living right. Grateful for this moment.”

Now look at him! The A-lister’s are laughing it up like old friends. Drizzy and friends even schooled the Training Day actor on how to “run the phone… camera.”

“Night on the town with the fellas! #Courtside #Laker game…….. #SwagLevels #CapricornSeason made history our hero #Denzel Produced my short film #Shame starring myself and Jennifer Hudson – were gonna drop the short at the top of the year……… #Energy #VoltronPictures #VoltronEntertainment #VoltronChairman,” Tyrese shared via Instagram. Nice!
