Could it be true? Are Lil Wayne and Birdman close to burying the hatchet?

According to reports, the YMCMB crew could once again be whole after a little over a year of being in shambles following Weezy’s public declaring that he wanted to cut all ties and end his relationship with the only label home he’s ever known.

It was a sad reality for many longtime Cash Money fans but thanks to Young Money President Mack Maine, the whole ordeal could soon be coming to a close. It’s reported that he was fed up with the disharmony amongst the crew and got Lil Wayne and Birdman on the phone to put their simmering beef to an end in time for them to reunite at Drake’s huge New Year’s Eve party. Drizzy later posted a photo on Instagram of himself, Weezy, Birdman, and Maine with others and included a caption that simply read ’16’, which began the speculation of an imminent reunion between the pair.

The ordeal began in December 2014 when Lil Wayne, frustrated with no perspective release date for his highly anticipated Carter V album, shocked fans when tweeting that his delayed album was not his doing and he was angry with the company.

“To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it,” he said in one tweet before adding, “I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy. I am a prisoner and so is my creativity. Again, I am truly sorry and I don’t blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album. But thk u.”

Does this pending reunion mean we’ll finally see the release of the long awaited Carter V album? We’re not even a week in and 2016 is already shaping up to be a very interesting year.
