The rumors of a romance between Echikunwoke and Rock first began when the pair showed up together at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party last month. The rumors intensified this Sunday, when Echikunwoke showed up hand-in-hand with Rock to the Oscars, where he hosted the awards ceremony amidst the infamous #OscarsSoWhite controversy. And what also added fuel to the dating rumors was the fact that Rock had his mother by his side with him and Echikunwoke on the red carpet.
It’s no wonder that many fans have assumed that Rock and Echikunwoke are a couple. But according to media reports, in a new interview, Echikunwoke spoke about the dating rumors and denied that she and Rock are a couple.
When asked about her connection to Rock, Echikunwoke said, “My name is Megalyn E.K. and I’m too busy for romance. Yeah I have work to do.”
When pressed for more of her thoughts about the rumors that she and Rock are Hollywood’s hot new couple, Echikunwoke replied, “I think it’s pretty funny that people don’t have anything else to do, but hey if you want to talk about me go right ahead, I’m pretty interesting I guess.”
Well, it looks like Echikunwoke has no plans on claiming Rock as her man. However, since the pair was spotted in such an intimate situation at the Oscars, we understand why some fans may conclude that she wants to keep their alleged romance under wraps for now.
