NBA player Kyrie Irving finally responded to the relationship saga that includes himself, Kehlani, and PARTYNEXTDOOR. The situation began on Monday morning after PARTYNEXTDOOR posted an Instagram pic of Kehlani’s hand while the two were lying in bed together.
Those who frequent social media were confused since many believed that Kehlani was still dating Irving. Two weeks ago, Kehlani and Irving were captured together hugging on a picture that was posted on Irving’s Instragram page. Kehlani soon became the subject of cyber bullying as some called her derogatory names because they assumed that she was cheating on Irving.
The Oakland, California-raised singer eventually deleted her social media accounts. But on the following day, Kehlani reactivated her Instagram and posted a photo of herself in the hospital and revealed that she attempted to commit suicide. She also posted a picture of PARTYNEXTDOOR and thanked him for being by her side.
But Irving finally spoke out and revealed that he is not a fan of PARTYNEXTDOOR for the stunt he pulled, and he is no longer dating Kehlani.
“It’s been hard to see what’s been going on and not address the truth. I do not justify the picture or what dude did to try and spark all of this nonsense that could have been avoided, but me and Kehlani were not dating when the picture came out. It’s unfortunate that it’s received so much attention, but it’s become bigger because of a post that was misunderstood. Nothing but love and compassion over this way for her and her family. My only focus the Game I love to play every night,” Irving wrote on Twitter.
Irving’s assessment of the situation was correct considering PARTYNEXTDOOR’s ridiculous Instagram post, which started it all. It proved to be an immature act that showed his lack of respect for Kehlani.
Irving will now focus on helping the Cleveland Cavs return to the NBA Finals and Kehlani revealed on Instagram that she was discharged from the hospital and will take a break from music.
