This past weekend, America suffered the deadliest mass shooting in the U.S. in almost 100 years as Omar Mateen gunned down clubgoers at Pulse nightclub in Orlando on Sunday morning, killing 49 people and injuring at least 53 more. Since the heartbreaking attack, the world has been mourning over the shocking loss of so many people. However, while some are focused on mourning or supporting the family and friends of the shooting victims, some have chosen to point the finger of blame at others and one of those people is actress Stacey Dash. And according to the actress, President Obama should be called out over the shooting.
Yesterday, Dash made a scathing post on her Instagram page as she posted that Mateen was allegedly a registered Democrat.
“Mr. President this man voted for you, is he an Islamic terrorist?” Dash wrote in an Instagram caption, which shows that the Orlando shooter was allegedly registered as a Democrat. “Registered Democrat voter Omar Mir Seddique Mateen, of Afghan origins commits worse [sic] mass shooting in American History.#islamicradicalism #terroristattack #seesomethingsaysomething #muslimextremist.”
Dash ended her post by taking one more jab at Obama and claiming that she was mourning for the LGBT community.
“My heart and prayers are with the LBGT community. This atrocity would not go unanswered under President Trump I promise!!!! #prayingfororlando #lgbt #pray #praying.”
As previously reported, Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump made controversial and insensitive tweets about the shooting, writing, “Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism, I don’t want congrats, I want toughness & vigilance. We must be smart!”
Trump also added, “Is President Obama going to finally mention the words radical Islamic terrorism? If he doesn’t he should immediately resign in disgrace!”
On Monday, President Obama held a press conference about the massacre and denied that Mateen was participating in any alleged larger terrorist plot.
“The one thing that we can say is that this is being treated as a terrorist investigation,” Obama said. “It appears that the shooter was inspired by various extremist information that was disseminated over the internet.”
Unlike, Trump and Dash, President Obama is expected to travel to Orlando this Thursday and pay his respects to the many victims of the shooting.
