Friday night, Sammie held a private listening session to preview some of the music he and his team have been working on.

His producers, K-City and Doh Boy, have been working with him since 2012. K-City is a Kansas City, Kansas native who’s worked with Jawan Harris, Letoya Luckett and Sy Ari Da Kid. He is a true R&B lover who aims to restore the genre and work with artists who have a true passion for what they do.

Doh Boy is a Chicago native who’s worked with Lil John, Lil Scrappy, Crime Mob, Keri Hilson, and Keyshis Cole. His goal is to work to build a brand and a team of true artists.

“The songs we’ve been working on are current but still true [to] the genre of R&B,” said K-City.

“This new music is the most transparent music that I have done on a mainstream level. As an underdog and independent artist, I don’t have to deal with the politics of the business, I just give my soul and my passion. For it to resinate with the consumers, I’m humbled and grateful,” said Sammie

The diverse crowd could really appreciate the music.

It’s safe to say that those who didn’t, now know that Sammie never left the music scene. His current album, Indigo, even surpassed the likes of Mariah Carey on iTunes.
