They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but a lifetime to forget them. For Drake and Rihanna, that “special person” was cancer patient and loyal fan Megan Flores.

On Saturday, July 9, news broke that the Florida native had passed after a brave battle with cancer. Soon after, the rapper and “Diamonds” singer took a break from their busy lives to pay tribute to Flores, who forever touched their hearts.

“Rest in peace my angel. I know heaven is celebrating today,” Drake penned via Instagram. “Thank you for the moments and emotions we share. I am blessed to have known you in this lifetime. @ovomegann.”

Meanwhile, Rihanna shared a throwback moment from one of her appearances in Miami where Drizzy introduced her to Flores. What came next was unforgettable. “She’s inspired me so much with her strength and her perspective on life! So fearless and kind!” Rihanna wrote. “It’s heavy news that I can’t slide in your DMs anymore like I used to!! There was always a smile waiting for me there! You brightened any day! Rest up baby girl! We will miss you!!”

With help from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Flores was able to meet-and-greet the superstars backstage in March. She later expressed her gratitude along with a joy filled snap via social media. “BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!, I MET THE LOML (Love of my life). He was so sweet & down to earth,” she said at the time of their hangout. “Gave me and my family some OVO clothing. BEST DAY EVER. NO LIE. @champagnepapi LOVE YOU!”

In case you missed it, Drake actually dedicated his latest album Views to his loyal fan. “This body of work is dedicated to Megan Flores,” he shared above the credits for the album’s opener, “Keep The Family Close”. “I pray for your well-being every day.”

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Megan’s loved ones during this difficult time. Share your prayers and condolences in the comment section below.
