The BB&T Atlanta Open, sponsored by Lexus, has become one of the most anticipated sports events to take place in the city of Atlanta. In 2015, over 30,000 attendees witnessed the tournament stop on the ATP World Tour. After moving to Atlantic Station five years ago, the tournament has served as a summertime highlight for tennis fans in Atlanta.

During the opening weekend, we got an opportunity to check out some of the festivities which included Family Zone and Kids’ Weekend. Kids who were under the age of 18 got an opportunity to view tennis matches for free when accompanied by an adult. Other key activities included the Lexus Autograph Zone and Lexus Perfect Serve. We were able to witness top competitive tennis from the Lexus Lounge.

During the final match of the day, Austin Krajicek defeated Lloyd Glasspool.

In a stunning upset, Nick Kyrgios, 21, defeated No. 1 seed John Isner to claim the title at the BB&T Atlanta Open. Isner had previously dominated the tournament by winning the top prize three years in a row.
