In today’s interview with “Steve Harvey,” on Wednesday, October 19, one of the most versatile quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL, Kordell Stewart for an exclusive sit down interview.

Stewart led the Pittsburgh Steelers all the way to the Super Bowl in 1995, but sadly, rumors about his sexual orientation and a tumultuous marriage to “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams, have overshadowed his legacy.

In his first television interview to talk about his book, Truth: The Kordell Stewart Story, Stewart talks to Harvey about his upbringing, life as a single dad, his turbulent marriage and the rumors that have surrounded him for nearly 20 years.

Here’s what he said about his marriage to Porsha Williams.

“You know, I loved my ex-wife,” Stewart tells Harvey, adding “that’s old and that’s over with, Steve. You know, I have a 13-year-old kid to raise.”

When Harvey asks Stewart if he regrets participating in a reality show, Stewart tells him: “No, I really don’t Steve, because you know what I’ve seen of my ex as of lately, conducting herself, just imagine if we was together for five more years with two children. That wouldn’t have been good.”

Stewart goes on to explain that around the time he and Williams were getting married, he was there to help Williams through an ordeal where she had lost her business. He elaborates: “She came in with a tough situation and then she came out with the Atlanta Housewives show, with making five to six figures, something more than she’s ever had. So when people say ‘I ran her off’ – ‘she left with nothing’ – she left with a lot.”

On whether he will marry again.

“When it comes to the institution of marriage, I think it is the highest levels in the Super Bowl of a relationship,” Stewart tells Harvey.

Stewart continues: “And you have that someone that you say, you know what, ‘I want to be with you for the rest of my life’ – you know, breath stink and all, I want to just be with you forever. And that breath I was smelling, was the one I wanted to be with for the rest of my life. But it got to the point where it started to get a little too stinky.”

Stewart tells Harvey that he’s open to the idea of marriage, but says “I want a woman Steve. I don’t want a child that’s trying to play the role of a woman. Someone that’s strong and can stand her own ground.”
