Actor Ron Glass dead at 71

Actor Ronald Earle Glass, known simply as Ron Glass, passed away. He was born on July 10, 1945 in Evansville, Indiana and died from respiratory failure on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016.

“Ron passed late last night of respiratory failure. Ron was a private, gentle and caring man. He was an absolute delight to watch on screen. Words cannot adequately express my sorrow,” actor’s rep, Jeffrey Leavitt tells TMZ.


The Emmy-nominated character actor enjoyed a prolific Hollywood career that spanned decades from 1973 to 2014. He studied drama and literature at the University of Evansville. He began his career in Hollywood in episodes of “Sanford and Son,” “Hawaii Five-O” and “All in the Family” in the early ’70s.

His breakout role was in 1975 in “Barney Miller.” He also enjoyed roles in popular series such as “The New Odd Couple,” “Firefly” and “Friends.”


Her recently appeared in an episode of “CSI.” That same year he appeared in “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” as Dr. Streiten.
