NBA sports analyst Craig Sager has lost his battle with cancer at the age of 65. Sager was known for his flashy suits and unique style during his tenure as a sideline reporter. He had a knack for getting intriguing commentary from top stars and coaches in the NBA.
Sager’s career took off in the 1970s after he became the first reporter to follow Hank Aaron as he rounded the bases to become the MLB’s home run leader.
Sager joined Turner Sports in the 1980s and became a staple for the brand. After being diagnosed with myeloid leukemia, Sager missed the entire 2014 season and returned during certain stints in 2015.
NBA players and entertainers sent condolences through social media.
