Former “16 and Pregnant” star Valerie Fairman has been found dead. She was 23.

Though the cause of death is currently under investigation by Coatesville, Pennsylvania, police, the Chester County Coronor’s office issued a statement on Thursday, Dec. 23, stating that Fairman’s body was discovered on Wednesday, Dec. 22 in Caln Township, Pennsylvania.

MTV also confirmed the death; of Fairman, who appeared on the second season of the hit reality series in 2009-2010. “We are saddened by the news of Valerie Fairman’s passing,” the network said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.”

As fans know far too well, Fairman, the mother of a 7-year-old daughter, Nevaeh Lynn Fairman, struggled with substance abuse for years (which was documented on “16 and Pregnant”), and was arrested on numerous occasions since finding fame — most notably in February 2015, when she was arrested on charges of prostitution. As previously reported, Fairman (then 21) was the youngest of the eight women apprehended, the oldest being 54-years-old at the time — the others were said to be in their 20s and 30s.

Shortly after news broke of Fairman’s sudden passing, fellow MTV reality stars turned to social media to send thoughts and prayers to Fairman’s loved ones. “How incredibly sad. My heart goes out to her daughter and family,” “Teen Mom 2’s” Chelsea Houska tweeted.

Meanwhile, Jenelle Evans tweeted, “Oh my god. I just spoke to her a couple months ago and told her I’m proud of her and looks like she’s doing good. … Don’t take life for granted. Hold your children and love them close.”

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Fairman’s family. Share your condolences in the comment section below.
