Russell Wilson is in hot water after a recent Facebook Live chat stirred up some controversy.
Earlier this week, Ciara’s Seattle Seahawks quarterback husband used Facebook to give his fans a behind-the-scenes look at his new campaign with Nike. In the clip, the three-time Pro Bowler could be seen wearing a chef’s hat while knocking out a few football drills.

But that wasn’t what caused all the commotion. During the live stream, Wilson asked his wife’s best friend, makeup artist Yolanda Fredrick, to come have a seat on his lap, (which she happily obliged), while discussing the topic of International Women’s Day. Fredrick, who’s worked her magic on stars like Jennifer Hudson, Gina Torres, and Usher, has been Ciara’s friend for years and it only seems natural that she’d grow close to Wilson as well. Fans felt the move was both tacky and telling — of Frederick’s alleged intention to steal Ci Ci’s man out from underneath her nose.

Over the next few days, fans of the singer blasted social media with receipts as proof that Frederick is gunning for her man. In one post, featuring a head shot of the father, who is currently expecting his first child with Ciara, she writes, “Lawd have mercy ??????@dangerusswilson … #bose #seahawks #yolisgrooming #ilovemyjob.” And alongside another, “This man right here! @dangerusswilson #Bose #yolisgrooming #thanksrussforbeingyou❤️#lovehim #YFT #seahawks #russci,” writes Frederick.
In a separate post, shared on the athlete’s birthday, she wrote: “Screaming Happy Birthday to this amazing, talented and God-fearing man!”
While the comments could very well be innocent — Frederick’s way of celebrating Ci Ci’s newfound love, fans are still not willing to let it go. “Ciara better keep her eye on your a–,” a fan commented.
While another demanded, “Start explaining.”
Meanwhile, neither Ciara or Wilson have responded.
