Secretary of Labor Martin Walsh declares it’s time for action on unemployment

What does this country need to do for itself, in order for us to actually see the advances in employment for Blacks?
The first two things we have to do is pass the bipartisan infrastructure bill, that’s the physical bill, the roads, and bridges, and we have to pass the infrastructure bill on the Cares economy, called the build back better agenda, that’s where job training is. Then at the Department of Labor, we need to make sure that we’re really intentional about making the investments to get job training dollars out the door, and into cities and towns all across this country. So we can get people to work. This is the time to help. We’ve done enough talking about it. We’ve done enough policy about it. Now it’s time for action.
