Jamie Foxx has returned to the set of his new movie Back in Action for the first time since his health scare last year.

The actor fell ill in Atlanta, Georgia last April while he was in town filming his new Netflix movie with Cameron Diaz. He was unable to continue work on the project as he was recovering in hospital, but Jamie has now returned to the set of the film for the first time since the crisis.

He has been pictured alongside his co-star Cameron Diaz, and a source told People that Foxx has been “very quiet” while shooting and is “just focused on working.”

No further details have been given about what happened to Foxx, who spent weeks in the hospital before continuing treatment at a physical rehabilitation facility in Chicago.

“We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” his daughter Corinne Foxx said in a statement at the time of the health scare. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

Foxx later opened up about his experience during his first public appearance since his hospitalization when he walked the red carpet at the Critics Choice Association‘s Celebration of Cinema and Television in Los Angeles in December.

“You know, it’s crazy, I couldn’t do that [walk] six months ago — I couldn’t actually walk,” the They Cloned Tyrone actor said, getting emotional while he spoke to the audience as he accepted the Vanguard Award at the event.

“I cherish every single minute now — it’s different. I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy because it’s tough when it’s almost over … when you see the tunnel. I saw the tunnel — I didn’t see the light,” he added.
