Awards, accolades and unadulterated adulation continue to cascade down over global superstar Usher like a brilliant waterfall.

Just days after delivering an aesthetically spectacular performance before record numbers at the Super Bowl 2024 halftime show in Las Vegas, the man born Usher Raymond IV was immortalized with his own plaque on the Black Entertainment Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in downtown Atlanta.

During the celebrity-rich soiree, with Mercedez-Benz Stadium serving as a backdrop, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens also bestowed Usher the highest honor the city can give a citizen, the Phoenix Award.

“I’m hoping the rest of the world is feeling the love that has come from this city. Atlanta is a city of belief. Atlanta is a city that allowed me to be that Phoenix to rise,” Usher said during his acceptance speech. “It is a city that has allowed me to have the tenacity to go out and share this culture that I found when I was here. The culture that informed who and what I am as an entertainment.”

Moments before Usher took the podium to address the multitude of celebrities, dignitaries and crush of media members, Dickens stated why the “Yeah” singer deserved such a distinguished honor.

“The whole world got to see that Usher brought the world to the A,” Dickens said.

“I will always represent the A,” Usher responded.
