Maya Rudolph returns to ‘SNL’ for 50th season

Maya Rudolph is making a highly anticipated return to “Saturday Night Live” as Vice President Kamala Harris. The 52-year-old actress will reprise her Emmy-winning role during the show’s 50th season, which kicks off this fall and will cover the final stretch of the 2024 presidential campaign.


Rudolph’s SNL legacy

Rudolph, who was a cast member from 2000 to 2007, originally portrayed Harris alongside Jim Carrey as President Joe Biden during the lead-up to the 2020 election. Her portrayal of Harris earned her an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series in 2020, solidifying her impact on the show.


Production updates

While fans are excited about her return to SNL, pre-production on season 3 of her Apple TV+ series “Loot” has been paused. Filming was set to begin on Aug. 26 in Los Angeles but has been delayed due to scheduling conflicts.
