Google Lens now lets users add voice recordings to image searches.

The new feature will let you directly ask the app a question about the image in question, and the service will then take the recording into account for its search.

As reported by Android Police, a glow animation appeared over the magnifying glass icon, while tapping that led to a “Search with Voice” tooltip on the screen.

If you hold down the shutter button, a message appears urging the user to “speak now to ask about this image.”

The user can then ask a question or issue a command, with a text transcription of your command appearing on the screen.

The update has been described as a server-side push, which should already be available on all Android smartphones.

Users who can’t see it are advised to ensure they have the latest patches installed for both the Google Search and Lens apps on their device.
