Music and entertainment impresario Jay-Z is demanding the dismissal of a lawsuit accusing him of pedophilia due to multiple inaccuracies in the woman’s filings.
The husband of Beyoncé filed the legal documents to have the case be thrown out of court immediately following the accuser’s admittance that there was erroneous information provided her account. She said she was 13 years old when she was sexually assaulted by Jay-Z and Diddy at an afterparty of the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000.
According to the Los Angeles Times and NBC News, these are a few of those inconsistencies.
- The woman, who is known only as “Jane Doe,” said she had a conversation with musician Benji Madden at the New York after-party. However, NBC News reports that neither he nor his brother, Joel, attended that year’s VMAs because they were on tour in the Midwest at the time.
- The father admits he does not recall picking up his daughter following the afterparty as she stated in her civil complaint.
- There are photos of Jay and Diddy on the night of the alleged incident that are inconsistent with the description of the location where the woman said she was assaulted.
Jay-Z deems the case ‘over before it began’
Hov has issued scathing statements denying the woman’s account of the events as well as lambasting attorney Tony Buzbee for allegedly filing a false claim without properly vetting his client.
“This incident didn’t happen and yet he [Buzbee] filed it in court and doubled down in the press,” Jay-Z said, according to the Los Angeles Times. “True Justice is coming. We fight FROM victory, not FOR victory. This was over before it began. This 1-800 lawyer doesn’t realize it yet, but, soon.”
Jay-Z’s lawyer issues a threat to Attorney Tony Buzbee
Carter’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, has not only petitioned the judge to dismiss the case, but he will also work to have Buzbee disciplined for allegedly peddling false information in the courts and the press. “It is stunning that a lawyer would not only file such a serious complaint without proper vetting but would make things worse by further peddling this false story in the press,” Spiro said.
Tony Buzbee counters Jay-Z’s public statements
Buzbee countered the accusations from Jay-Z’s camp that he is a bottom-feeding ambulance chaser by telling NBC that his client would submit to a polygraph test. Buzbee said his team is continuing on its vow to procure corroborating evidence.
Buzbee is the man who has filed a class-action lawsuit from 120 people accusing Sean “Diddy” Combs of rape, sexual assault, violence, drug use and other transgressions.
