On Feb. 4, 2025, Creme of Nature and Keke Palmer celebrated Black hair at The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center in Chicago. The Unstoppable Hair Event honored the evolution of Black hairstyles throughout the years, bringing together many of Chicago’s brightest and most beautiful to celebrate.

Emmy Award-winning actress, singer, songwriter, producer, and television host Keke Palmer was named Creme of Nature’s first-ever chief brand officer in October 2024. Her return to Chicago, alongside the brand’s celebration at theThe DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center, marked a full-circle moment—both returning to their Chicago roots.

The Unstoppable Hair Event was created to recognize the cultural significance of Black women and their hairstyles throughout history.

Theodore “Ted” Manuel, 94, one of the original creators of the Creme of Nature brand, reflected on the significance of honoring the company’s legacy.

“When the name and the formula came to me, it was destined to be a shampoo—nothing more. But it blossomed into an extended line of wonderful products, and I’m glad to see that,” Manuel said. “Whenever you give birth to a new product and it becomes a whole line in the world of hair care manufacturing, that’s a big deal.” said Manuel
