Kevin Hart simply wants his children to be “happy”.
The 45-year-old actor – who has children Hendrix, 17, and Heaven, 19, with ex Torrei Hart, and Kaori, four, and Kenzo, seven, with his wife Eniko Hart – is proud of the way his kids are growing up, but above all else he hopes they can stay “happy with life”
He told PEOPLE magazine: “I think I have very good kids, well-mannered kids, but most importantly happy kids.
“My kids are very happy with life. They’re happy with love, and that love that they’re happy with is love that they try to give others.
“I hope that that stays true and I hope they stay consistent.”
Kevin has been reflecting on fatherhood after taking part in Apple TV+’s new documentary ‘Number One on the Call Sheet’, and he hopes he remains a good example to his family.
He added: “I just can hope and pray that I’m being the best example possible.
“I think as parents we all give crash courses and what we deem to be education or great direction.
“You can only hope that your kids are picking up as much as you’re putting down.”
The ‘Jumanji’ actor noted that things will start to “click” for her kids as they grow older, which should be when his advice and support “comes into play”.
He said: “It all does click at a certain time for children, especially as they become young adults.
“You can hope when it’s all said and done … that all that information comes into play at some point.
“I can just hope and pray that the example that I think I’m being is the example that I really am being and all my time and all my energy that I’m throwing to them on a day to day is not going unnoticed.”
